A man has been rushed to Emerald Hospital and will likely be airlifted by a rescue helicopter after suffering critical injuries in a crash just outside the regional town.
Queensland Ambulance Services confirmed that about 2.30pm Friday paramedics were called to a single motorbike crash on the Capricorn Highway 10km outside of Emerald heading towards Longreach.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the motorbike rider was an adult male who sustained serious injuries to his chest as a result of the crash and was taken to Emerald Hospital in a critical condition.
It is understood a rescue helicopter is en route to Emerald to airlift the rider for further medical care.
