Men who allegedly drugged and sexually abused girl were found with meth, MDMA and marijuana in Rockhampton

Two Queensland men have been charged over a “significant amount of drugs” as well as the sexual abuse of a teenage girl in Rockhampton.

Man charged for alleged online grooming

Two men aged in their 30s have been charged over a “significant amount of drugs” as well as supplying a drug to a minor who they then allegedly sexually abused and photographed.

The men cannot be identified for legal reasons, but the allegations against them were heard in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 22 during a bail application for one of the men.

Police prosecutor Brandy Butler said the amount of drugs located was of a significant weight.

She said the pair lured a child and gave her drugs.

Magistrate Cameron Press expanded on the allegations, stating one of the men placed white powder on the girl’s tongue.

“It is also alleged that the defendant (aged 31) and his accomplice have sexually interfered with her,” he said.

“It is also alleged that the defendant stated in a conversation with the co-defendant that ‘she tastes like fresh milk’.”

Mr Press said the pair was accused of distributing an image of the girl during that conversation.

He said the co-accused ran from police when they uncovered 114g of methamphetamines, marijuana and MDMA during a search at a caravan park.

Police also found $1550 cash during the search.

Defence lawyer Rebecca Winning said her client disputed the allegations and claimed that he did not know the victim.

She said the co-offender, whose phone was used to lure the child, did not reside in Rockhampton and was visiting at the time.

Mr Press said the defendant, who applied for bail, had a history of breaching bail conditions and given that history, he concluded the defendant was an unacceptable risk of failing to appear in court and comply with bail conditions.

Briefs of evidence were ordered for all charges for both men.

The 31-year-old man was refused bail, remanded in custody and had his matters adjourned until May 4.

The co-accused, who is a 37-year-old man from the Sunshine Coast, did not make a bail application and his matters were adjourned until May 11.
