A man who supplied an undercover cop with drugs at a Queensland pub also had his personal cannabis stash exposed during a raid of his home.
Ryan James Webb, 30, pleaded guilty to eight charges in Biloela Magistrates Court on September 20 - the most serious being supplying dangerous drugs.
The court heard that on August 9, 2022, at Hughenden, a law enforcement participant was deployed to the Great Western Hotel Hughenden.
About 8.30pm, the officer entered a smoking area and had a conversation with Webb.
“As a result of this conversation, (Webb) offered to give the law enforcement participant a small quantity of his personal cannabis,” police prosecutor Jennifer Leach said.
The court heard that Webb gave the officer 2.57g of cannabis and did not ask for any payment.
It was told the other offences, drugs and weapons offences, stemmed from a police raid at Webb’s Hughenden residence.
During that raid, police found 225g of cannabis, as well as numerous pipes and drug items, and weapons for which Webb did not hold a licence.
The court heard Webb had a robbery with violence offence and drug offending on his criminal history.
His lawyer explained the weapons found during this raid were heirlooms handed down from Webb’s late grandfather and he did not intend to keep them.
Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale noted the drug supply offence was not for commercial gain.
She placed Webb on 12 months’ probation and convictions were recorded.
