The owner of North Rockhampton adult store Love Heart is heartbroken after two randy robbers did a “smash and grab” of the shop, using wheelie bins to cart away thousands of dollars in stock.
In the CCTV footage, two frisky thieves covered head to toe and wearing hi-vis clothing and headlamps, can be seen leaving the Love Heart shop from the rear entry about 3.15am with two wheelie bins.
The female store owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said the bins were full of pricey products and the Saturday morning burglary appeared to have been planned.
“To go in that prepared and to that extent… for a smash and grab in 20 minutes, it’s a lot,” the owner said.
“They have stolen thousands of dollars' worth of stock.”
The footage shows the thieves leave then return so one can break the surveillance camera with a crowbar, while the other propped them up, revealing the top half of their face.
The culprits fled the scene before police or security arrived.
Another employee, who also asked to remain anonymous, said the thieves seemed to have been looking for specific items.
“A lot of high price items… male toys like the vibrating and electric ones,” the employee said.
“I have no idea why anyone would [steal from an adult shop].
“I wish I could get into the mind of somebody who does this, but I do not know.
“I’m over thieves and people who think they can take what they want. It’s not right.”
The frustrated owner said the store had also been targeted in December last year.
“This is the second time they have broken in.”
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said investigations were ongoing and no charges had been laid.
