Three men charged during a police operation which targeted a Rebels Motorcycle Club event north of Rockhampton, have had their matters dealt with in court.

Jock Barry Langley, 37, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on February 10 to wearing a prohibited item in public.

Police Prosecutor Clancy Fox said on December 11 last year, police were conducting patrols in Yeppoon when they saw a vehicle behind the Railway Hotel.

Mr Fox said there were four men in the vehicle, one being Langley, and they were all wearing black T-shirts.

“On that particular day there was a poker run being held by the Red, White & Blue Motorcycle Club,” Mr Fox said.

“The Red, White & Blue Motorcycle Club has strong links to the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang which is a prohibited organisation.”

Mr Fox said police followed the vehicle to a Puma service station and they saw Langley park it in the parking area.

He said Langley was wearing a “Red, White & Blue Yaamba Tattoo Show shirt.”

Langley told police it was “just a shirt he wears” and that he didn’t know any members of the Rebels.

Police seized the shirt after Langley willingly handed it over.

Representing himself in court, Langley, who had no criminal history, told Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale that he “knew nothing about the shirt” and that was accepted by the prosecution.

Ms Beckinsale fined Langley $200 and she did not record a conviction.

She ordered the shirt be forfeited to the Crown.

On the same day in court, Darren Wayne Williams, 59, also pleaded guilty to wearing a prohibited item in public and his matter was dealt with ex parte.

Ms Beckinsale accepted Williams’ plea in writing in which Williams stated he was not a member of an outlaw club.

Mr Fox said Williams was not part of the same group as Langley, and he was on a motorbike when he was intercepted by police about 20 minutes after Langley.

With no similar offending on his history, Williams was fined $200 and no conviction was recorded. Again the shirt was forfeited to the Crown.

The other man who was dealt with in court on this day was Troy Edward Jenkinson, 49.

He did not appear in court and Magistrate Beckinsale proceeded with his matter, a charge of wearing a prohibited item in public, ex parte.

Ms Beckinsale noted that Jenkinson had no criminal history and she fined him $200, did not record a conviction, and made a forfeiture order.
