Casey Norman Barlow in Yeppoon court charged over fatal Cooee Bay crash

A Central Queensland labourer has been charged over a fatal crash on the Capricorn Coast that claimed the life of a Yeppoon man.

Nathan Larkin, 28, was killed in a crash at Cooee Bay on August 16, 2022.

A Central Queensland labourer has been charged over a fatal crash on the Capricorn Coast in August 2022 that claimed the life of a Yeppoon man.

Casey Norman Barlow, 30, was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.

It is alleged in court documents that Mr Barlow dangerously operated a car on Matthew Flinders Drive, Cooee Bay, on August 16, 2022 and caused the death of Nathan William Larkin, 28.

According to police, initial investigations suggested a Ford Territory and the motorbike Mr Larkin was riding collided on Matthew Flinders Drive just before 10.40am.

Mr Larkin, who lived in Yeppoon but was originally from Newcastle, was critically injured and sadly declared deceased once arriving at hospital, while Mr Barlow did not sustain injuries.

Mr Barlow, who lived in Tanby, was charged with the offence on August 29, 2022 and granted bail.

His matter was mentioned in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on June 22.

Magistrate Cameron Press adjourned the matter to Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 28.
