Police desperately hunting for gun-wielding robber after workers left terrified during armed hold-up

Cops are hunting for a gun-wielding bike-riding robber after shop workers were left terrified during an armed hold-up in Central Queensland.

Attempted robbery at Gracemere chemist

The staff at the Lawrie St LiveLife Pharmacy in Gracemere are soldiering on after an alleged hold-up attempt.

A man allegedly threatened staff at the pharmacy on Lawrie St Gracemere that he had a gun after 8am on Wednesday.

He allegedly demanded cash from the staff but did not reveal any weapon.

Police allege the man left the pharmacy with a small amount of cash.

The attendant was not physically injured.

A staff member said they’d had a lot of local wellwishers come through the door since the incident.

Once staff member went home after the traumatic event but the rest stayed to keep the business going as usual.

The staff member said they had video footage of the attempted robbery and the police arrived “within four minutes”.

Rockhampton police have been unable to locate the person of interest and on Wednesday afternoon issued an appeal to the public for help.

They were unable to deploy police dogs because the person was riding a pushbike.

He is described as having a dark complexion, being about 160cm tall and of a slim build.

At the time, he was wearing a black beanie, a black Adidas tracksuit with a hood. A blue surgical mask was covering his mouth and nose.

Anyone with information that could identify the man is encouraged to contact police.
