After a week of voting readers from across Central Queensland, Rockhampton and Gladstone, have hammered out their verdicts on who takes home the title of Central Queensland’s hottest tradie.
We can now reveal the top five, as voted by readers.
No. 5: Glenn Robert Sneddon
With 4 per cent of the votes, Rockhampton’s Glenn Robert Sneddon from Defence Window Cleaning came in fifth place.
Before starting his own window cleaning business, Defence Window Cleaning, six months ago, Mr Sneddon worked as an underground miner, a corrections officer and served in the army.
“I don’t know who nominated me, but I have a great support of clients, who don’t mind someone abseiling from their window.”
As a tradie, he has found the freedom to be himself, relishing the hard work and the simple pleasure of earning a well-deserved beer.
Climbing up the ladder and roping up from job to job, cleaning windows and solar panels, for Mr Sneddon nothing is better than being anchored from the roof ‘dropping down like batman’.

No. 4: Ryan Langdon
Working alongside his dad, Paul Langdon (the owner of Paul Langdon Plumbing), Ryan Langdon has made a name for himself as a tradie, raking in 7 per cent of the votes and claiming fourth place.
No. 3: Dannielle Weston
Nominated by her little sister, Dannielle Weston was surprised to make it to third place, receiving 9 per cent of the votes.
“I don’t look as dolled up in my work get up covered in grease, oil and coal dust,” Ms Weston said.
Working as a diesel fitter at the BMA Daunia mine for the past three years, and at Hastings Deering, Rockhampton before that, Ms Weston wanted to be a diesel fitter while in high school.
“I didn’t start my apprenticeship until I was 22, as the stigma around women in the trade then made it hard to,” she said.
“I love what I do, I enjoy fixing things and learning new things all of the time.
I also love the great mates I’ve made.”

No. 2: Shianne Sprecher
A returning finalist, Shianne Sprecher has made her mark on the Gladstone community, securing the runner up spot with 12 per cent of the votes.
Currently employed as an electrical and instrumentation tradesperson at UGL Curtis Island, she began her tradie journey with an apprenticeship at Queensland Alumina Limited from 2016 to 2020.
Following her time at Queensland Alumina Limited, she worked at BMA Blackwater Mine for 11 months before joining UGL.
No. 1: Caiden Labone
Collecting a whopping 18 per cent of the votes, Caiden Labone, 18, from Rockhampton has been crowned Central Queensland’s hottest tradie for 2023.
A third-year apprentice carpenter at Hutchinson Builders, Caiden thoroughly enjoys his work because he‘s surrounded by the same people who bring laughter to his day, including his site manager.
