Ezylifestyle Homes, with a three-decade legacy, has been crowned Rockhampton‘s best builder for 2023, just as it prepares to transition into the next generation.

Ezylifestyle Homes, a family-owned Rockhampton business, has proudly claimed the title of the city’s best building company for 2023 as voted by readers.

Initially named R P Quirk and Co Building Contractors, the company was founded by Ray Quirk in 1983, changing over to Ezylifestyle Homes in 2002.

The owner’s son Ashley has been in charge of the company’s site based work for the past 10 years and is planning to buy the business and transition into the new owner role within 12 months.

Ever since Ashley was younger he recalls helping his dad with the company.

“I’ve been helping out since I can remember,” he said.

Mr Quirk officially started working for the company about 2003 when he was in high school. He then joined full-time after 2005 and since then has spent 20 years building up the business.

With a small team of two trades, apprentices, an office admin and draftsman, the team pride themselves on “good work for good people” by nurturing their loyal client base, many staying on the books since the early 1990s.

“The quality of our work also has a lot to do with the quality of the sub trades that we employ, as well as our dedicated team,” Ashley said.

More than three generations of the Quirk family have been born and raised in Rockhampton with Mr Quirk’s two young sons, aged 5 and 3, likely to continue the businesses legacy in the future.
