A LUXURY oasis has been rising from a dusty plot on the Bruce Hwy at Parkhurst since February and today the family will throw open its doors for the community to soak up the fun in the sun.

Stage one of the $25 million development, Korte's Resort, is officially open to the public today with 52 resort-style rooms, the Oasis Restaurant and a 26.5-metre pool waiting for its first customers.

Stage two of the development, including a 500-seat steakhouse, is expected to launch by June 2016 but it means the beef capital will have to wait a few months for another great steak venue.

Developer Bill Korte said the community did not have to book a room to make the most of the pool, pool deck and 150-seat Oasis Restaurant with both fixtures open to the public.

He said a focus of the development from the beginning was on creating job opportunities for locals.

"We will have 20 people on board from Monday and that will grow depending on trade and how busy it gets," Mr Korte said.

"All of those employees are local."
