THE mother of a man facing court for profiting from stolen goods sat in the back of the Rockhampton Magistrates Court in support of her son yesterday.
28-year-old Rhen Eric Francis Soden pleaded guilty after coming into possession of 70 metres of stolen dragline in March this year and receiving $1299.60 when it was sold later that month.
Soden had already served 4 months and 5 days in custody as he was on parole at the time of the offence.
For profiting from the goods Soden was sentenced to a suspended sentence of four months imprisonment with an operational period of two years and for receiving tainted property a suspended sentence of six months with an operational period of three years.
He will also pay $1299.60 restitution.
