The status of the Queensland Police Service’s evidence gathering in an alleged murder case has been revealed in court.

Graeme Colin Wollington, 68, was charged with the murder of his 74-year-old Rockhampton neighbour Linda Kerr in late July, 2023.

They lived in cottages in PresCare’s Alexandra Gardens on the corner of Farm and Alexandra streets, Kawana.

Queensland Ambulance Service was called to the address at 7.29pm on July 16, 2023, for a medical incident and the matter was referred to police.

Defence lawyer Stephanie Nicholas had on February 14, expressed her frustration at the lack of any material from the brief of evidence being provided to the defendant’s legal team, seven months after the alleged murder.

The prosecution was given a week’s adjournment to address this and Mr Wollington’s matter was mentioned again this week, on February 21, where Ms Nicholas advised she had been provided with the full brief of evidence that morning on a USB drive.

Mr Wollington’s matter has been adjourned now for one month for his legal team to review the file and get instructions.

He was remanded in custody and his murder charge will be mentioned next on March 20.
