Rockynats is a real family affair for father and daughter duo Gary and Jessica Agius who both have cars in this year’s event.

Mr Agius has a rare 1959 Chevrolet El Camino with right-hand drive and impeccable interior and exterior features.

His daughter’s 1963 Morris Major Elite is affectionately named ‘Elliot’ after her childhood pet guinea pig.

They have made it so that Elliot’s name flashes up on the dashboard when the car is started and his name is on the floor mats.

The Chevrolet El Camino has been in the family for 30 years and with Mr Agius for 10 years and his cousin had it before him.

The Morris Major Elite was sitting in the yard for about six years before father and daughter decided to work on the car together.

It is Miss Agius’s first car.

The Chevrolet El Camino is the only one of its make and model at the show and as far as Mr Agius is aware, one of only three in the country.

Mr Agius has rebuilt the engine, the underbody work and the suspension, with plans to add a bigger engine.

He just has to let his wife know.

Mr Agius’s cousin worked on the chrome, interior, did the current paint job and switched it from left to right-hand drive.

Ms Agius and Mr Agius drove their cars in the street parade on Friday.

His cousins were also at the show.

“That was a pretty awesome moment, having her following me, and she loved it,” Mr Agius said.

Both cars drew plenty of attention in the Quay Street Show ‘n’ Shine.
