Emergency crews race to crash on Blackwater-Rolleston Rd at Stewarton

Paramedics have assessed multiple people at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash just south of a Central Queensland mining town.
Crews were called to the incident on Blackwater-Rolleston Rd at Stewarton, south of Blackwater, about 6.50am.
The incident happened within roadworks.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said two men, aged in their 60s and 20s, were initially entrapped in one of the vehicles before being freed my crews on scene.
She said the man aged in his 60s had suffered a suspected back injury, cuts and abrasions and also had pelvic pain and was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
The man in his 20s is understood to have suffered soft tissue injuries and was also in a stable condition.
The QAS spokeswoman said a man in his 50s had suffered an arm injury and another female patient suffered minor injuries.
Both declined transport to hospital.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said both lanes of Blackwater-Rolleston Rd were closed.
The RACQ CapRescue helicopter was also sent to the scene.
The crash comes as emergency crews on the Sunshine Coast respond to a massive seven car and two truck highway pileup was reported on the Bruce Highway at Nirimba.
