A Mackay man has died after he spent more than a week in hospital in a critical condition following a crash at St Lawrence on November 7.
The 55-year-old Rural View man passed away in Rockhampton Hospital on Monday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the incident at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Wumalgi Rd, about 6.57am on November 7.
It is understood the truck crashed into a tree and rolled onto its side, leaving the 55-year-old male driver, the sole occupant, entrapped in the vehicle for some time.
He was then flown to Rockhampton Hospital.
He was reported to have sustained leg and abdominal injuries at the time of the crash and was flown to Rockhampton Hospital by RACQ CapRescue.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services had two crews attend the incident where they worked to free the man.
The Bruce Highway was closed in both directions for a period of time while investigations were ongoing and the site was cleared.
The highway reopened sometime later.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the crash and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the crash, or who has dashcam footage, to contact them.
