Tributes are flowing for Clermont man Trevor Zimmerman, 77, who died on November 25 after the vehicle he was travelling in was located submerged in flood waters at Hibernia near Emerald.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene just off the Gregory Highway about 7.10am after a ute was discovered in a creek.
Mr Zimmerman, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was tragically found dead inside.
Mr Zimmerman has been remembered by family as a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and uncle.
A GoFundMe fundraiser was created by Donna Harvey, a relation of Mr Zimmerman, to cover his funeral costs and on Wednesday had raised more than $1000.
“I am trying to raise funds to help cover the costs of funeral arrangements to give him the send off he deserves and to take some of the burden off my mother while she grieves,” Ms Harvey wrote.
She wrote that Mr Zimmerman was well known in the community and a very loved and respected man.
“He was a very hard worker and would give you the shirt off his back,” she wrote.
“Our family would be very grateful and appreciate any donations put towards the cost of his funeral arrangements.”
