Capricon returns to Rockhampton Showgrounds in 2022 | Photos

Capricon will be back this weekend with a star studded line-up and workshops for the whole family. Check out our flashback gallery from previous events.

From superheroes to Star Wars, Pokemon and princesses and everything in between, cosplayers and pop culture enthusiasts are getting ready to dust off their costumes as Capricon returns this weekend.

After being cancelled because of covid restrictions last year, the event will return on August 27, with a star studded line-up of special guests.

This year will mark five years of the event.

Included on the guest list is former Home And Away actor Dan Ewing who has since gone on to star in action movies such as Love and Monsters.

Joining him will be Stephen Hunter, who starred in The Hobbit films as dwarf Bombur.

Hunter has also starred in a number of Australian productions such as All Saints, Love My Way, Rescue Special Ops and recently appeared in the new Thor Love and Thunder film.

On Sunday it was announced Jackson Robert Scott, known for his role as Georgie in the 2017 remake of Stephen King’s ‘It’, would be joining the line up of stars.

Scott will be the replacement appearance for Grace Van Diem, best known for her recent role as Chrissy in Netflix’s Stranger Things, who had to cancel her appearance due to work schedule changes.

There will also be plenty to see and do at the event with workshops, photo zones and cosplay meet-ups.

Constable Cameron Von Doom suits up as a Ghostbuster with Constable CJ Symonds donning an unlicensed nuclear accelerator at the CapriCon Pop Culture Convention in Rockhampton.

The 2018 CapriCon Steampunk and Pop Culture convention which is held at the Rockhampton Regional Library precinct. Rockhampton High School student Jordon Cullen, 13, came to the convention dressed as Negan from the cult television series The Walking Dead.
