It’s the second application in a few months to build new storage sheds at the Capricorn Coast. Check out what the plans involve this time.

More storage sheds could be built at the Capricorn Coast after another development application was lodged with council.

Swift Storage submitted plans in May to Livingstone Shire Council to build 176 storage units at 34 Pineapple Drive, Hidden Valley.

Another company, Storage Choice, has now submitted new plans this month to build a two-building storage unit facility on the corner of Tabone Road and Fred Lawn Drive, Yeppoon.

The family-owned Australian company has a number of sites in Brisbane, the southeast corner and one in Gladstone.

According to its website, its storage shed prices start from $44 a month.

The development application, submitted by Adam and Sparkes Town Planning, states the facility would have two two-storey highset buildings.

Building A includes a showroom and would be 3304 sqm, to be delivered in stage one, and building B would be 3378 sqm, to be delivered in stage two.

The application doesn’t specify how many storage units there would be inside.

Upon full completion, the development would have a gross floor area of 6,682 sqm.

Access would be from Fred Lawn Drive and Tabone Road with a two-way driveway from each entrance.

The storage facility would have self-serve access with security gates and a personal access code.

The application will now be assessed by planning officers.
