AFTER 100 years of owning a piece of history, the Anglican Church has sold the original Bishop's house, officially named Lis Escop, to a local grazing family.
According to Professionals' real estate agent Mark Molloy, the four-bedroom Athelstane St property sold for $1.3 million.
"The property sold for the price we expected due to the large land area of the property and the heritage of the house," Mr Molloy said.
"It's a one-of-a-kind place with views of the whole town so it generated a lot of interest.
"We received three submissions after the close of expressions of interest and we had 35 inspections of the property so there were a number of people interested.
"It ended up selling to a local grazing family who plan on calling it home."
The property was built in 1864 and has its own chapel which was extended during the 1900s.
