Bill Ludwig is the first to bid for Livingstone Shire mayor

EX-LIVINGSTONE Shire mayor Bill Ludwig officially kicked off his campaign on Tuesday by launching his “Bill Ludwig for Livingstone Mayor” Facebook page.

SOME might say he's never ceased campaigning for the Livingstone mayoralty.

But ex-Livingstone Shire mayor Bill Ludwig (pictured) officially kicked off his campaign on Tuesday by launching his "Bill Ludwig for Livingstone Mayor" Facebook page.

By yesterday afternoon the page had already clocked up 112 likes.

Cr Ludwig said he hoped voters would use his page to ask him questions.

Unsurprisingly, he was also the first person to officially nominate for the mayoralty on the Queensland Electoral Commission website.

Cr Ludwig said he understood two other nomination forms had been downloaded, but he did not know who by.

Despite calls to nominate, civil engineer Tim Griffin was not one of the two people who downloaded the nomination forms. The Morning Bulletin received a flurry of text messages in support of Mr Griffin.

But after being defeated in his previous two bids for mayor of Rockhampton Regional Council, Mr Griffin yesterday ruled out running.

Businessman Petros Khalesirad yesterday said he was still considering a bid for the mayoralty.
