A Brisbane-based removalist received the surprise of his life during a routine visit to the local tip when he opened up a discarded entertainment unit to find a large sum of cash.

Get It Gone Rubbish Removal owner Jesse Stewarts said he moving the old piece of furniture when he heard a heavy box rolling around inside one of the drawers.

“The unit belonged to one of my regulars, a little old lady living in Banyo.

“I returned the cash to her and she couldn’t believe it ether, she gave me a few $100 as a tip.”

Mr Stewarts, whose business specialises in rubbish removal and recycling around Brisbane, said he has never come across cash being thrown out before, and knew this time was a mistake.

“She has been doing it tough lately so I knew it was a mistake.

“This is definitely the craziest thing I’ve ever found before during the removalist process.”
