17/67Facebook post by Thargomindah local Daniel Roy = Today is a dark day for Thargomindah. The waters have risen to 7.5m, absolutely smashing the 1974 flood levels (6.75m) by a whopping 0.75m. To call this a simple flood is both underselling the sheer scale and reducing the destruction to a simple word. , Despite this atrocious destruction, the town still stands strong, with every one of our townsfolk keeping their heads high and pushing through to do whatever is possible. If you ever want to see what the true blue Aussie spirit is, just take a look at a Thargomindian and you'll see it with no trouble. , The waters are holding steady at the 7.5m mark, and while we still don't know what more is to come due to lack of flood monitoring equipment in the region, we are prepared for what each day unfolds. Our mini town shanty is spread across the Airport area, with SES, QPS and Swift Water Rescue supporting where needed. Picture Facebook
