As the old saying goes, when you know … you know. Jackson Law proposed to Amelia Small the very same night they met, following
a bicycle race at Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast. Amelia, who grew up in Brisbane, says that although Jackson lived in Wollongong, NSW, they were destined to be together.

“A friend of mine dragged me up the coast to watch her boyfriend race and we went to a party that night where I met Jackson, who was a professional cyclist at the time.
He told me I was the girl he was going to spend the rest of his life with and then proposed on the spot.” A shocked Amelia said no and they parted ways after exchanging numbers.
After a two-year long-distance relationship, she eventually made the move south and then Jackson officially proposed. The couple tied the knot at St Kevin’s Church in Bangalow, Byron Shire, northern NSW, and enjoyed a reception
at the nearby Moller Pavilion Bangalow Showgrounds (aka Ugly Duckling).

Best advice for other couples planning
a wedding?
Breathe. Listen to your mother – she’s right 90 per cent of the time. And give and take – where you want to spend more, take from other areas.
