Ever played an instrument too loud in the car? Or not dressed neatly while driving a tow truck?
If so, watch out – Queensland police could be after you!
The revealing of the state’s most bizarre and obscure laws has kickstarted a hilarious reaction from readers on couriermail.com.au’s Facebook page.
Apparently you could be fined $1437 for playing an instrument too loud in the car – who knew?
“There goes me playing three blind mice, on my recorder, when I’m stopped at the lights, bugger!!!,” Jules Thompson wrote on Facebook.
Xtine Oakey was also perplexed.
“I guess I won’t try to play a tuba in traffic anymore,” she wrote.
Danielle Anne, meanwhile, was left in hysterics.
“Playing an instrument loudly in the car ahahah,” she wrote.
Learning that there is also a fine for leaving your car unlocked, Alan Storck played the role of rebel.
“Just played my recorder in my tow truck then walked off without locking it,” he joked.
Nadine Musardo offered a more sensible approach to the news.
“The locking doors fine makes sense. It encourages theft, which then makes you report to the police, which is a waste of resources, had you have just locked your car,” she wrote.
“I always double lock to make sure. Make it a habit, if it isn’t.”
However others didn’t agree.
“Ah yes. Victim blaming. How about making more harsh laws and being enforced for disgusting crooks. Make it worth while in “wasting time” then,” Daniel McCauley replied.
In the end Dean Azzi summed up the responses to the bizarre laws.
“Making Australia Safe FFS,” he wrote.
