Australia’s oldest operating rum distillery has just launched a new restaurant, allowing patrons to drink and eat the dark spirit until their heart’s content.

Queensland’s award-winning Beenleigh Rum in Eagleby, in Logan, has opened the doors to Distillery Restaurant – an 80-seat eatery within the grounds of the 140-year-old distillery site, dishing up elevated pub-style fare with lashings of their top-notch liquor.

“We are thrilled to introduce The Distillery Restaurant as an extension of the Beenleigh Rum Distillery experience, and believe it will quickly become a favourite with both locals and travellers,” said the venue’s head of marketing Chris Illman.

“The menu itself has taken classic comfort foods and elevated them with high-quality ingredients, new flavour profiles, unexpected twists – and of course a healthy dose of Beenleigh Rum where possible.”

That means everything from spicy corn ribs and sticky pork belly bites slathered with rum sauce to porterhouse steak with potato puree and cafe de paris butter and signature beef ribs in sticky barbecue and rum sauce. There will also be vegetarian options, burgers and a kids’ menu.

And it won’t just be rum on the drinks list, with a handful of wines, beers and other spirits from South Australia available. Although for those who do like their rum, expect a variety of Beenleigh’s award-winning tipples, plus a generous rum-dominant cocktail menu, with the likes of daiquiris, a rum sour, an “Espresso Rum-tini” and more.

Guests will also be able to participate in premium rum tastings, masterclasses and interactive distillery tours.

The restaurant will be open Wednesday-Sunday for lunch and Friday nights for dinner.
