PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk said she has never met with a school principal candidate in her electorate.
However she would not comment on whether it was appropriate that her Deputy Jackie Trad had in her electorate of South Brisbane, instead referring to the LNP’s Crime and Corruption referral.
Ms Trad became engulfed in another integrity debacle last week following allegations she interfered in the appointment of the principal for the new Inner City South State Secondary College in South Brisbane.
The Deputy Premier last week refused to explain why she was invited by the Education Department to meet two candidates being considered - Tracey Cook and Kirsten Ferdinands.
Ms Trad and the Education Department have also refused to outline what was discussed.
Ms Cook was the former frontrunner before Ms Ferdinands was appointed in a second selection round.
Ms Trad said she did not interfere with the selection process and that Ms Cook wasn’t chosen as the position needed to be readvertised when the size of the school expanded.
The LNP has since referred the matter to the CCC.
