THE Turnbull Government has ridiculed Annastacia Palaszczuk for her ambitious renewable energy target, saying it had a better chance of building snow fields in north Queensland.
Speaking at a CEDA conference in Brisbane today, Resources Minister Matt Canavan said the Queensland Government were being irresponsible by lurching to the left.
Mr Canavan even warned Queensland faced shock blackouts like the devastating outage that left all of South Australia in the dark this week.
The Government wants to draw 50 per cent of its energy from renewable sources in 14 years, and have zero net carbon emissions in Queensland by 2050.
“What is happening in South Australia could be our future if the Queensland State Labor government persists with its certifiably mad ambition to meet a 50 per cent renewable energy target by 2030,’’ Mr Canavan said.
“The Queensland Government may as well promise to build an alpine skiing resort in North Queensland. That has more chance of happening than Labor’s renewable energy target”.
