LNP leader Deb Frecklington gives same answer six times in press conference on racist video row
As anger builds over a video that appears to show a young LNP member making “casually racist” comments about indigenous people, the party’s leader, Deb Frecklington, has been left stumped at a press conference, offering the same answer no fewer than six times.

OPPOSITION Leader Deb Frecklington has refused to say what action her party is taking and repeated the same response six times, after a video involving members of the Young LNP went viral.
Jake Scott was filmed saying “racist” comments at which the Gold Coast’s Young LNP chair Barclay McGain laughed.
But at a press conference, when the matter was raised, Ms Frecklington offered the same response no fewer than six times.
“Look, this is inappropriate, and the party is taking action,” she said.
Then a reporter asked what Ms Frecklington personally thought of the statements in the Young Liberals’ video.
“Personally, look, it is inappropriate and the party are taking action,” she repeated.
Next she was asked whether she thought “internal action”within the party was good enough, or whether more public action would send a clearer message.
“Well it is inappropriate, and the party are taking action,” she said.
“Sorry, when you say the party is taking action, what exactly do you mean?” a reporter asked.
“Well the party is taking action. The party have put out a statement, and I’ll say it again. This is inappropriate and the party is doing the right thing and taking action,” Ms Frecklington said.
“How does it fit within the party’s views?” another journalist asked.
“Well the party have made a very clear statement. This is inappropriate and the party are taking action.”
Ms Frecklington was also asked whether she would have the boys in her party room.
“I’ve been very clear in my statement, it is inappropriate and the party is doing the right thing and taking appropriate action,” she said.
