Labor accused of falsely using ex-MP’s image, words
Former LNP MP Jann Stuckey, who sensationally quit last month triggering the Currumbin by-election, has distanced herself from a letterbox flyer featuring her image and a quote where she called the new LNP candidate a ‘blow-in’.

DEPARTED Currumbin MP Jann Stuckey is campaigning against her own party in the upcoming by-election - apparently.
Currumbin residents have received letterbox flyers with a large photo of the recently-retired LNP veteran and a quote from her attacking ‘blow-in’ candidate Laura Gerber.
Ms Stuckey last month quit the southern Gold Coast seat she’d held for 16 years, citing depression and bullying.

She later slammed the LNP’s decision to parachute Brisbane barrister Ms Gerber into Currumbin against the wishes of local branch members who wanted lawyer Chris Crawford.
Ms Stuckey accused the party of wanting ‘skirt’ to contest the seat in the March 28 by-election and ‘any skirt will do’.
At the weekend, she accused the party of ‘shunning’ her since she resigned and failing to check on her mental health. She said she was snubbed for Sunday’s LNP by-election campaign launch, a claim the party vehemently denied.
Now, anti-LNP leaflets have appeared in letterboxes across Currumbin which appear to come from Ms Stuckey.
“Currumbin is a very connected community, they don’t like blow-ins,” the leaflet reads, quoting from an Alan Jones radio interview Ms Stuckey gave shortly after she resigned.
“Currumbin deserves better.”
But Ms Stuckey has taken to Facebook to disassociate herself from the flyer.
“This flyer is not from me,’ she told followers.
“The ALP have chosen to use it and my quotes. Whilst most of the content is correct I gave no permission to circulate it. Look at the authorisation in fine print on the second page - you can see it is from ALP in Peel Street, South Brisbane.”
