He’s baaack!

Pete “Plonker” Dowling made a surprise visit to State Parliament this week after his inauspicious exit from public life some time back.

Dumped LNP MP Peter ‘Plonker’ Dowling to contest seat of Redlands

Dowling watched proceedings from the gallery on Tuesday, although oddly Speaker Curtis Pitt didn’t afford him the traditional acknowledgment of former members.

Just an oversight, we’re sure.

The Plonker seems to have well and truly moved on from those heady days when his penchant for defiling his pinot landed him a spot on US talk show Last Week Tonight with British comedian John Oliver.

Of course, those stiffs in the LNP didn’t find the steamy photos Dowling was sending to a secret mistress so funny because they bounced him out of Parliament.

Dowling looks a lot more dapper now than he did during his days as a straight-laced conservative MP.

He was wearing an off-white linen jacket and sporting some longer locks that one wag suggested were reminiscent of a ’70s adult actor.

With him was a new lady friend.

Dowling ran for his old seat of Redlands again in 2017, earning a commendable 2889 votes which, in the wash-up, was enough to cost his former party the seat and hand it to Labor.

Whether Dowling will run again in October remains to be seen, however he sure didn’t like the attention he received from our photographer.

He insisted the photos were unauthorised and demanded they immediately be deleted.

If only he’d adopted that attitude with his own camera efforts, Dowling may still be the member for Redlands rather than remembered for taking pictures of his member.
