Deb Frecklington says LNP won’t rule out putting Greens ahead of Labor
After committing to preference the Greens’ Amy McMahon ahead of Jackie Trad in South Brisbane in the upcoming State Election, Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington says the party won’t rule out putting the Greens ahead of Labor in other seats either.

OPPOSITION Leader Deb Frecklington hasn’t ruled out preferencing the Greens ahead of Labor across more seats at the upcoming October election.
The LNP has already committed to preferencing the Greens ahead of Jackie Trad in South Brisbane in a bid to unseat the Deputy Premier.

Asked whether this could happen across other seats, Ms Frecklington today said it was a matter for the party while insisting there would be no deals with minor parties.
“I fully back the decision to put Jackie Trad last in South Brisbane,” Ms Frecklington said today.
The Leader said there were no preferences deals with any minority parties including One Nation.
Pressed on whether this meant the LNP would preference Labor ahead of One Nation, Ms Frecklington repeated there would be no deals.
The Greens announced Amy MacMahon, who almost unseated Ms Trad at the 2017 election, as their South Brisbane candidate today.
Just 498 primary votes separated the two.
Ms MacMahon today said she was very excited about running and that the party would mobilise thousands of volunteers for a grassroots campaign across the state.
Kirsten Lovejoy, who works in the Department of Environment and Science, was also announced today as the party’s candidate to take on Education Minister Grace Grace in McConnel.
John Meyer will run for the Greens in Clayfield, Katinka Winston-Allom in Cooper, Patsy O’Brien in Miller, Victor Huml in Greenslopes and Lawson McCane in Moggill.
