BRISBANE residents in all but nine suburbs will be faced with an increase in their rates as the City Council’s Budget gets handed down on Wednesday.
The city’s new Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, has confirmed there will be widespread increases – some as high as $115 a year – across the city.
Of the nine suburbs that have dodge the bullet, the biggest surprise is Kangaroo Point – one of the city’s most expensive suburbs – where residents will receive a cut of 5 per cent over a 12-month period.
