PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk has told State Parliament she is expecting the Crime and Corruption Commission to publicly report on its investigations into other Queensland councils following on from its Ipswich probe.
“The CCC is looking a number of councils,” Ms Palaszczuk told the House as she came under Opposition fire in Question Time this morning over what Labor knew about the allegations against the Ipswich City Council.
“Not just one council, a number of councils and I look forward to hearing further public reports from the CCC in relation to other councils that may come to fruition in the future.”
Parliament is due to debate and pass legislation to sack Ipswich City Council today.
LNP Leader Deb Frecklington and her Deputy Tim Mander quizzed Ms Palaszczuk on allegations raised by Labor MP Jo-Ann Miller and whether they mirrored the findings of the CCC’s investigation into ICC.
Ms Miller has accused her colleagues of turning a blind eye to her concerns.
CCC Chair Alan MacSporran has previously said the CCC was looking into allegations involving a number of Queensland councils.
