Queen’s Wharf fixes website after South Bank put on northern shore

A website promoting million-dollar apartments has temporarily relocated Brisbane’s iconic playground South Bank.

Brisbane’s multibillion-dollar Queen’s Wharf development has hastily altered their website after a graphic wrongly identified South Bank as being at Gardens Point, on the northern bank of the Brisbane River.

The embarrassing stuff-up, which was explained as just a “glitch,” was visible on computers and seemed to be placed at the same point where a new bridge between the “integrated resort” and South Bank would land in the CBD.

But the interactive graphic correctly labelled South Bank as being on the southside of the river on smartphones.

The graphic appears on the Residences website promoting new apartments currently being built at Queen’s Wharf, and was quickly fixed after an inquiry by The Courier-Mail.

The stuff-up comes as building work goes into overdrive at the megaproject, with scaffolding and 10 cranes now poking into the sky above Brisbane’s CBD.

Once complete in 2022, Queen’s Wharf will house a casino, several new hotels, 50 bars and restaurants, retail space and apartments. Several areas of public green space have already opened as part of the project.

Among the most eagerly awaited aspects of the $3.6 billion development is a new Skydeck which will tower over 100m above ground and will be open to the public.
