Concerns have been raised about the welfare of Labor MP Jimmy Sullivan after police responded to an incident at his Kedron home late on Sunday.

No charges were laid.

“Police took up with all parties involved,” a Queensland Police spokesman said.

Multiple sources, including people close to the Stafford MP, have raised concerns about his welfare and relationship with alcohol.

They said while Mr Sullivan had suffered intense personal struggles for some time, things got worse during the election campaign.

It is understood former state minister Anthony Lynham and federal Sports Minister Anika Wells - both close friends with Mr Sullivan - intervened last week to assist the MP.

Mr Sullivan said he had already sought support.

“I’m surrounded by good people including very good friend and mentor Dr Lynham,” he said.

“I’m at a busy time in my life, not just the election, but with a beautiful newborn baby.”

One Labor colleague close to Mr Sullivan admitted they were worried about his welfare.

“I’m concerned for him,” they said.

Mr Sullivan, first elected in 2020 before becoming Assistant Minister for Justice and Veterans’ Affairs in December 2023, was easily re-elected at the Saturday state election.

He recorded a near 40 per cent primary vote.
