LNP local government spokeswoman Ann Leahy asked Police Minister Mark Ryan if he could guarantee future crime victims’ personal details were secure within his office.
“Can the minister guarantee future crime victims their personal address details are secure and will not be released to their dangerous perpetrators, adding more pain to already harrowing experiences for victims,” she said.
Mr Ryan said his office have a high standard to uphold.
“It's an existing standard, and it's a standard that they are required to comply with protecting the privacy of victims, protecting the privacy of people,” he said.
“So, of course, the expectation is that there is no unauthorised disclosure of information. If it does happen, it is rigorously investigated, and if the standard has not been met, then there are consequences that flow.”

Why can't premier provide cost of jets?

Mr Miles said it was because the government's air wing was the responsibility of police.

Greens MP Amy MacMahon asked Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace why former premier and Australian Banking Association boss Anna Bligh was "campaigning" for her on the weekend.
She asked why the government would put the CFMEU under administration, but not the big banks "whose criminality was exposed" during the Banking Royal Commission?
Ms Grace said Ms Bligh was not campaigning, but walked past her volunteers and stopped for a chat.
"This is such a really irrelevant, ridiculous question, I don't even know how to answer it," she said.

LNP victim support spokeswoman Laura Gerber said Police Minister Mark Ryan's office organised for Queensland Police to pay for CCTV after a victim's details were shared with the perpetrator.

“The minister's office arranged for CCTV to be installed at the vulnerable women's home, and the matter was referred to the crime and corruption commission,” Ms Gerber said.

“Will the minister confirm that despite the severity of both these developments, no one in his office raised it with him?”

Police Minister Mark Ryan said the matters were "expeditiously dealt with".

“Those matters that once investigated were referred through the proper ethical standards processes, my office then also provided further correspondence. The Queensland Police Service has high standards of its own officers.”

Deputy Opposition Leader Jarrod Bleijie referenced a victim from two-years ago.
"…(they) spoke out about not being listened to, and said, and I quote, the fish rots from the head, so Minister, you need to resign".
"In response, the Police Minister said, I quote, if there are improvements to be made. You know, I think it's a reflection of leadership that you've got to be open to listening and feedback and making changes."
Mr Bleijie said given it had been revealed today that the minister's office failed to communicate a major breach to the minister exposing DV victims' details, how could he ensure the Labor Government would listen and act when they really need it.
Mr Ryan said to suggest anyone in parliament doesn't take these matters seriously was "offensive".
"The Queensland Police Service is committed to protecting those people who are experiencing domestic and family losses. "

Deputy Premier Cameron Dick has continued his attack on Opposition Leader David Crisafulli about his involvement in failed training company SET Solutions.
Mr Dick called for Mr Crisafulli, the state's alternative premier, to face journalists and answer questions.
"By not taking questions from the Queensland Parliamentary Media Gallery is an insult to the people of Queensland," he said.
"When discussing the importance of politicians being honest, the editor of The Courier-Mail said 'those bestowed the privilege of high public office must adhere to the highest standards".
Mr Crisafulli is not accused of wrongdoing and says he met his obligations.

Minister urges victims to go to police following data breach

Member for Whitsundays Amanda Camm said it had been revealed that many more victims came forward since their personal data was breached and asked Police Minister Mark Ryan if he was aware more people had been put at risk.

Police Minister Mark Ryan again urged victims to go to their local police station.

"The standard that we expect of officers is one that is unwavering, and if that standard is not met, then action is taken as appropriate" he said.

Minister defends office's actions over victim's data share

LNP police spokesman Dan Purdie said a domestic violence victim who had her details released to an offender wrote to the police minister on "multiple occasions" in March, April and May.

He asked: "Why didn't the minister tell the police commissioner about dangerous perpetrators being given the personal details of their victims?"

Police Minister Mark Ryan said any complaint about the Queensland Police Service sent to his office was always acted upon.

"It's not correct to suggest in any way that things have not connected on, because there is a very rigorous process that's followed," he said.

"My office acts genuinely and expeditiously in ensuring that those matters are investigated."
