'Integrity inferno' burning through the Queensland government

Annastacia Palaszczuk faces an LNP grilling in question time over her demand for the Integrity Commissioner to sit down with the man who allegedly called her a "b*tch" to sort their differences.

Responding to the spat between Integrity Commissioner Nikola Stepanov and Public Service Commissioner Rob Setter  - who denies he called Dr Stepanov a "b*tch"-  the Premier on Monday told the pair to get together and sort their differences.

Opposition Leader David Crisafulli said the suggestion of mediation was a poor response from the Premier.

Question about Public Trustee

Opposition frontbencher Tim Nicholls has referred to the Public Advocates' report on the Public Trustee's fees and charges.
"At the time the Attorney said an internal review into the Trustee's fees and charges was underway," he said.
"Now the Trustee says we will have to wait until at least June for the review to be delivered.
"When will this government stop reviewing and start doing and deliver fairer fees and charges for Public Trustee clients?"
Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman said work was well underway to make sure the Public Trustee was a modern office.
"It's good to see that the Public Trustee has been on a reform journey for more than two years," she said.
Ms Fentiman said some fees and charges had already been made.

Fired-up Minister backs Premier during 'offensive' question

The Opposition has now asked Communities and Housing Minister Leeanne Enoch whether she supported the Premier's call for victims to get into a room with an alleged bully and sort out their differences.

Ms Palaszczuk raised a point of order in an attempt to have the question dismissed.
"I find that absolutely offensive – that is not true and accurate and I ask the member to withdraw," she said.

The Speaker allowed the question.

A fired-up Ms Enoch said the Opposition was "spending its time misrepresenting the Premier" before launching a tirade about the LNP's record on women – and backing Ms Palaszczuk.

"Everyday that women, the Premier of this state gets up… works hard for the people of Queensland," she said.

Stepanov's resignation locked in: Premier

The Premier has been probed over whether she will release the legal advice which notes Integrity Commissioner Nikola Stepanov must leave on July 4 – rather than push back her resignation to December 30.

Ms Palaszczuk on Monday said legal advice showed Dr Stepanov must leave on the date stipulated in her resignation letter.

Opposition MP Dan Purdie asked Ms Palaszczuk if she would release the legal advice, or whether Dr Stepanov was being forced out due to "her pursuit of Labor lobbyists".

Ms Palaszczuk said the Integrity Commissioner's resignation was effective as of July 4, as per her letter.

Opposition Leader David Crisafulli interjected, yelling "you don't have to accept it"
