Protesters have disrupted the parliament’s annual Christmas tree lighting event for the second year in a row.
The protesters gathered outside parliament near the Botanical Gardens and called out the LNP for its record on causing harm to First Nations people — including axing the truth telling inquiry and pushing through tough new youth crime laws.
Speaker Pat Weir, made aware of the protests, told MPs they were to completely skip the tree lighting and go straight to the Speakers green.
Last year pro-Palestine protesters disrupted Christmas proceedings.
