Qld integrity report: Annastacia Palaszczuk vows to stay on for 2024 election

Despite the integrity woes engulfing her Government, Annastacia Palaszczuk has vowed to serve a full term and has committed to standing at the next election to let voters decide her future. VOTE IN OUR POLL

Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed she will run against David Crisafulli at the next election.

After on Thursday claiming she was “looking into” running again, Ms Palaszczuk clarified her comments, declaring she “misinterpreted” the question.

The Premier on Friday revealed she had informed her Caucus she would take the team to the election against Opposition Leader David Crisafulli.

“The people of Queensland will decide whether or not they want a government that’s focused on them and focused on delivering services or whether they want an opposition that is yet to provide any alternative policies to the people of this state,” she said.

“I just wanted it to be on the public record today so everybody is 100 per cent clear.

“I love this job. I love the people of this state.

“The people of this state give me energy every single day, to do this job to look after them and to take this state, you know, to the next stage.”

Ms Palaszczuk on Thursday brushed off claims she has “checked out”.

“I love this job,” she said.

“It’s up to the people of Queensland to vote whether or not they want me to ­continue doing this job.”

Ms Palaszczuk has weathered a political storm this year and faced a barrage of criticism from integrity agencies, prompting her to call the Coaldrake review to analyse her Government’s integrity.

Ms Palaszczuk insisted it was “full steam ahead” for her third-term Government, and dismissed suggestions that it had become overconfident in its quality.

“It’s something that I do guard against by going out and meeting with people,” she said.
