Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the government is still waiting to hear back from the Crime and Corruption Commission before releasing a report written by the former state archivist.
Ms Palaszczuk announced this week she would release a 2017 report written by Mike Summerell, which recommended changes based on his findings from his private email investigation.
The Premier on Thursday said she understood the report was still with the CCC, vowing to release it to the public as soon as it was returned.
Asked if it would be released at 5pm on Friday – just before the weekend – Ms Palaszczuk said she hoped not, but also suggested it was dependent on when the CCC came back to the government.
And when she was asked why clearance needed to be sought by the CCC, Ms Palaszczuk suggested the matter was being handled by her department.
The Premier has previously indicated that all the recommendations from the 2017 report were either completed or were “underway”, saying there was “nothing that was outstanding to commence work”.
Ms Palaszczuk on Monday said she had no problem with the report being released once the government had checked with the CCC.
It came as she conceded somethings could’ve been done better after facing ongoing questions about integrity within her government.
Mr Summerell this week called for the full release of the report.
He suggested he always intended for the report to be made public, saying that he believed it was in the public interest for it to be made available to Queenslanders.
