Long-time local nurse and business owner Kerri-Anne Dooley will have a second crack at unseating Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath when she stands as the LNP candidate for Redcliffe at next year’s state election.
Opposition Leader David Crisafulli and deputy leader Jarrod Bleijie announced Ms Dooley as the candidate on Sunday.
“I have lived in Redcliffe for 47 years, I have raised my family here, and I have seen our community grow and change over time,” Ms Dooley said.
“But the Palaszczuk Labor government has failed to deliver the infrastructure, the health services and the housing we need to keep pace with population growth.”
Ms D’Ath defeated Ms Dooley at the 2020 election with a strong 46 per cent of the first-preference vote delivering a comfortable 56-43 per cent two-party-preferred result.
Mr Crisafulli praised Ms Dooley’s determination to put her hand up again for Redcliffe and deliver for locals.
“Kerri-Anne has dedicated her life to helping others, caring for our seniors and providing support to people with a disability,” he said.
“We know we are the underdog at the next election, and Kerri-Anne is already on the ground working hard to earn her community’s trust and to prove the LNP is ready to govern.”
