Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the government is not currently considering any further restrictions as she sought to reassure the public that it’s “absolutely fine” to visit COVID safe businesses.
It comes after the government slashed the number of people allowed to gather at homes to ten and imposed another lockdown on aged care facilities in parts of the southeast.
Ms Palaszczuk confirmed the government was not currently looking at further restrictions at “this stage”.

“Can I also reassure the public that businesses have in place COVID safe plans,” she said.
“So it is absolutely fine for you to go and visit your local cafés and restaurants and businesses where they have COVID safe plans in place.”
Ms Palaszczuk urged people to still stay away from crowds.
The Premier said she understood there would have been a lot of people disappointed with the move to cap gatherings at homes to 10 in southeast Queensland, but insisted the decision was about putting public health first.
“What we have seen in southern states, especially like in Victoria, a lot of transmission happened in the family homes where large families were gathering,” she said.
“That is why we have immediately reduced those gathering numbers in homes.
“So we’ve looked at the evidence and we’re acting on the evidence in the best interests of people.”
