Details of the horror moment before a two-year-old was killed at a Queensland school carpark are being investigated by police who have called for new witnesses to come forward.
On Thursday, the boy was hit by a silver 2006 Nissan Pathfinder as it was travelling through the carpark of Durack State School on a grass area near Avocet St.
The boy sustained critical injuries and was later declared dead at the scene.
The three people in the car were physically uninjured.
The boy’s mother and siblings witnessed the horrific incident when the boy was run over during school pick up.
On Sunday, police put out a call out seeking further information and witnesses. It comes just a day after the boy was buried.
“Officers from the Brisbane Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to people who were within the car park area around the time of the incident and are yet to speak to police, to come forward,” the police statement said.
“Anyone who may have seen the movements of both the Nissan Pathfinder and the two-year-old boy prior to the crash are also asked to come forward.”
Police said they had spoken with a woman at the scene.
The Courier-Mail understands the principal of the school tried to save the little boy.
