Police investigating after baby girl’s death at Murgon on February 5

A seven-month-old girl died after being rushed to hospital in the South Burnett region last week.

A man was reportedly stabbed in the chest at a Gympie region home last night.

Detectives are investigating the sudden death of a baby girl who was located unconscious in a home in the South Burnett region last week.

Emergency services were called to a home in Murgon at about 9.30am on February 5, where someone within the home was performing CPR on the seven-month-old.

The girl was pronounced deceased at the local Murgon Hospital a short time later.

The Child Protection and Investigation Unit are continuing investigations.
