A STRIFE-torn elite schools governing body has been mercilessly lampooned in a whacky video about the authenticity of a public apology for the wrongful sacking of a principal, over a scandal that engulfed four of the state’s most prestigious private schools.
With the saga dubbed Game of Thrones in cardigans, the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association is under fire for its handling of the embarrassing fallout that led to the forced resignation of Somerville House headmistress Flo Kearney and other key staff.

Somerville House parents demand inquiry into privacy breach
The latest salvo follows a hostile meeting between the PMSA and Parents & Friends at Somerville House on Tuesday night over the apology issued to Ms Kearney 19 months after her “early departure”.
Beyond PMSA, which represents about 4000 parents and alumni, demanded the axing of PMSA heads who presided over the debacle of an alleged data breach, a secret merger report, financial mismanagement, and trips to a nude Korean bath house.
The PMSA was also asked by the meeting to authentically disseminate the public apology and, in a welcome move, the statement was published in full in the school newsletter on Wednesday.
The PMSA is a church body governing Somerville House, Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College and Sunshine Coast Grammar School.
“We don’t really care ‘how’ they justify it to themselves – we’re just glad for the result for Flo Kearney,’’ Beyond PMSA said.
“After 19 long months, the entire community and the Somerville House Year 12 cohort from 2017 deserve a proper apology as well.
“The next step from the PMSA needs to contain a very clear recognition of ‘what’ actions the PMSA are apologising for and an understanding of their effect on the community.’’
Beyond PMSA produced a tongue-in-cheek video using clips from famous films on “how to make an authentic apology”.
John Cleese, Tom Hanks, Adam Sandler, Richard Nixon and an animated llama farting in a pool feature in the satire.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s infamous act of contrived contrition over the Pistol and Boo incident also gets a show.
It finishes with the captions: “The PMSA has never been authentic. Because they still don’t truly believe they are wrong.
“Where is the apology the community deserves?
“Stay tuned.’’
