Four people have been taken to hospital and a pet is missing after a fire that destroyed a home south of Brisbane this morning.
Seven fire crews were called early this morning to fight the fire in Hinchcliffe St at Tanah Merah.
A QFES spokeswoman said the first crew arrived at 5.40am after reports of a garage fire.
On arrival they found the single story home in flames and a two adults in their 30s, a toddler and a baby had escaped the structure which sustained significant damage.
The spokeswoman said everyone was accounted for but the families pets were still missing.
Crews had the fire under control by 6.15am but were still working to extinguish it completely at 6.40.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire, with the Fire Investigation Unit expected to attend the property later on Monday.
Four stable patients were taken by ambulance to Logan Hospital with smoke inhalation.
Paramedics remain on the scene.
