Man dies after jetski accident at South Stradbroke Island
A man has died following a jetski accident on the Gold Coast this morning. It comes as yet another drowning has been confirmed in southeast Queensland.

A MAN has died after following a jetski accident on the Gold Coast this morning.
About 8am, paramedics responded to a call of a jetski incident near a campground on the eastern side of South Stradbroke island.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said bystanders are believed to have pulled the man from the water.
At the time, the person was conscious and breathing but later took in water and was then in a critical condition.
It’s believed paramedics performed CPR at the scene after they were ferried over by a rescue boat. A rescue helicopter was also sent to the scene but the man died at the scene.
Police, who say there was no other vessel involved in the incident, will prepare a report for the coroner.
The incident comes as yet another drowning has been confirmed in southeast Queensland this week, making three in the two days before today’s jetski accident.
A man died after being pulled from the surf at a popular but unpatrolled swimming spot on North Stradbroke Island yesterday.
Paramedics were called to Frenchmans Beach at Point Lookout just before 12.30pm, where a man in his 40s was in a critical condition.
Despite volunteer lifesavers and then paramedics working on him for more than an hour, he could not be saved.
Police today confirmed a man died after a drowning incident at Lake Wivenhoe Dam about 5pm on Monday.
Queensland Fire and Emergency, ambulance and police services were on scene to locate the man.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was not taken to hospital and a helicopter that was tasked to the area is believed by QFES to not have arrived while they were on scene.
Fire and Emergency services had five crews on scene to locate the man.
Police said a report was being prepared for the coroner.
It was a the second drowning in Queensland on New Year’s Eve, with a man drowning at a popular Gold Coast beach about 6pm Monday.
The man was swimming in the Broadwater off Muriel Henchman Drive when he is believed to have experienced a seizure.
Paramedics were called to the scene just after 6pm as the man, aged in his 60s, was pulled from the water unconscious.
Paramedics tried to give him CPR with the assistance of volunteer marine rescue to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
