Loganlea man, 29, dies after struck by ute at Waterford West

A pedestrian is fighting for life with multiple injuries after being struck by a ute, with the driver allegedly fleeing the scene.

A 29-year-old man has died in hospital following a crash at Logan on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Chambers Flat Rd and Burke St at Waterford West after 8pm after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Police initially reported that the pedestrian had been hit by a Holden Colorado dual cab and that the driver had fled the scene.

The 25-year-old Redland Bay man is now assisting police with their inquiries.

The pedestrian was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but has since died.

The Forensic Crash Unit are appealing to anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.
