A young man has died after a car and truck collided in a horror smash south of Brisbane on Friday afternoon.
Initial investigations suggest that the Ford Fiesta was travelling west on Mundoolun Connection Rd just before the intersection with Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd when it collided with a large dump truck.
An 18-year-old Boyland man was the sole occupant of the Ford and died at the scene of the crash, which was reported at 3.53pm.
It is understood that an off duty paramedic attempted to revive the 18-year-old but was unsuccessful.
Queensland Police had advised motorists to avoid the scene in the aftermath of the crash.
The driver of the truck was not injured and the forensic crash unit are investigating the cause of the incident.
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash is urged to contact police.
