Paris Hilton has become an unlikely honorary member of the Irwin family – at the expense of a chihuahua or two.
In the latest celebrity link up for Uber Eats’ Tonight I’ll Be Eating campaign, unveiled on Monday, the American reality star joins Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin at Queensland’s Australia Zoo.
The first two ads feature Hilton lounging in the crocodile pool as Robert attempts to feed the reptiles as well as showcasing her setting up her chihuahuas in their own enclosure.
“Crikey Paris, this is where we keep the snakes,” Terri says, before Paris, while staring at a snake’s bulging belly, responds: “that is so crikey.”
“She can’t even get crikey right,” Robert says.
It is understood Hilton didn’t attend the zoo and instead filmed her parts of the campaign in Los Angeles while the Irwins filmed in Queensland with the goal to create an instantly recognisable global family.
“The Irwins have become my ZFFs – they’re my zoo fam forever,” Hilton said. “It was so much fun filming these segments.”
The remaining scenes will show Hilton in other testing environments with her Australian family.
“Paris and I definitely have a shared love of animals,” Bindi said. “Paris is welcome to don her pink khakis anytime she’s in Australia and spend time with our beautiful wildlife on her next visit. She’s a great mum to Diamond Baby and her other sweet pups.”
Robert added: “People following the storyline will see that families really can come together around shared experiences. While things start off a little uncertain with Paris, by the end of the campaign the relationship goes full circle and we are adopted into her family and she’s welcomed into ours as an honorary Irwin.”
A host of big-name celebrities have previously featured in the Uber Eats campaign. Kim Kardashian was reportedly paid $1.35 million in 2019 for her ad opposite Magda Szubanski, who was in character as Sharon Strzelecki from ‘Kath & Kim.
